الأخلاق والعلم

الأخلاق والعلم لكلٍّ منهما مجاله الخاص الذي يتلامس دون أن يتداخل. تُرينا الأخلاق الهدف الذي ينبغي أن نسعى إليه، بينما يُعلِّمنا العلم، بمجرد تحديد الهدف، كيفية تحقيقه. لذا، لا يمكن أن يتعارضا لأنهما لا يلتقيان. لا يمكن أن توجد أخلاق علمية، ولكن أيضاً لا يمكن أن يوجد علم بلا أخلاق. هنري بوانكاريه، فيلسوف وعالم فرنسي (29 أبريل 1854 – 17 يوليو 1912)
Ethics and science each have their own distinct domain, which may touch but do not overlap. Ethics shows us the goal we should strive for, while science, once the goal is defined, teaches us how to achieve it. Therefore, they cannot contradict each other, for they do not intersect.
